Golf Clubs
There are three main categories of golf clubs in the average collection; woods, irons and putters. Each type of club has a specific use during a round of golf. Because the game often requires many different types of shots, having a range of each type of club is the norm.
Drivers are an essential part of any collection of golf clubs. They are the club used for the first shot on every hole, referred to as “teeing off”. They have a much larger head and striking surface than most other clubs, and their longer shaft length allows for higher club speeds that result in longer drives.
Nearly every set of golf clubs will include one or two specialty clubs, such as a sand wedge. A sand wedge is considered an “iron” and is used to hit the ball out of a bunker, or sand trap. The club head is designed to get under the ball, thereby lifting it out of the sand.
